The word 'fiqh', not an English word, is meaningless to most English speakers. If Muslims want us to use it to replace the suffix 'ist', then it is their job to give it currency. As it stands, the word 'fiqh' communicates nothing.

Many English words are from other languages. And sometimes, foreign words better describe certain subjects than trying to translate the concept. The Qur'an is an Arabic word, so is Islam, and Muslim. 

The word "Fiqh" does have meaning, and without understanding its meaning, then a label like "Hanafism" becomes not only useless but also inappropriate, by attempting to incorrectly label a concept as something which it is not. 

Are we just too stupid to understand anything? So in lieu of trying to understand, we just want to dumb things down and make up words? Guess so.
