I have met a number of gay Muslims who have reverted, and some who still engage in this lifestyle in secret, but for many of us, the one thing we hate and despise is those who demonize us for being different, who demonize the relationships we have formed with another human being, and suggest that marriage to a woman will cure the desire.

An imam told me that the Muslim tendency of conceiling one's sin was a form of hypocrisy.  I was shocked by his statement, but he didn't elaborate on this observation.

My iman has grown but I still feel that homophobia among Muslims holds me back from the community, it is a distance of distrust, so I present an act, a charade, not entirely being the true me since the true me would be crucified.

This issue has been opened numerous times on the forum.  At the end of the day, how u choose to live your life is your business, but remember, the homosexual act and everything leading up to it is forbidden by your Creator.

Think of this as your personal jihad brother.  There are people out there like you, who are muslim, who are going through the same trial as you are going through, but who remain obedient to their Creator.

I do not know what the sheikh meant when he said the above, perhaps you need to get him to elaborate, but I will say from the little knowledge that I have : We as muslims should not broadcast our sins, and if we know something about someone else, we should keep it hidden in our hearts and not broadcast it to others.

I pray that Allah makes things easy for you, and keeps you steadfast in the deen.
