Jesus

Muslims respect and venerate Jesus, peace be upon him. They consider him to be one of God’s greatest messengers to humankind. The Quran re-affirms his miraculous birth and his miraculous abilities. Furthermore, his mother Mary is regarded as one of the most pure and exalted women of all creation.

At the same time, Islam teaches that Jesus did not die on the cross but was instead raised up to the heavens by God. In addition, Islam maintains that Jesus was human and any divine traits he possessed were by the permission of God.

  1. In the koran you are told that Jesus is the Messiah. The Holy Bible: King James Version. 2000.
    The Psalms
    22

A Cry of Anguish and Song of Praise.
To the chief Musician upon Ai'jeleth Shahar, A Psalm of David.

1 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Mt. 27.46 · Mk. 15.34

Why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?

2 O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest not;.

and in the night season, and am not silent.

    3 But thou art holy,

O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

4 Our fathers trusted in thee:

they trusted, and thou didst deliver them.

5 They cried unto thee, and were delivered:

they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.

6 But I am a worm, and no man;.

a reproach of men, and despised of the people.

7 All they that see me laugh me to scorn:

they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, Mt. 27.39 · Mk. 15.29 · Lk. 23.35 saying,

8 He trusted on the LORD that he would deliver him:

let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him. Mt. 27.43

9 But thou art he that took me out of the womb:

thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts.

10 I was cast upon thee from the womb:

thou art my God from my mother's belly.

11 Be not far from me; for trouble is near;.

for there is none to help.

12 Many bulls have compassed me:

strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.

13 They gaped upon me with their mouths,

as a ravening and a roaring lion.

14 I am poured out like water,

and all my bones are out of joint:
    my heart is like wax;.
it is melted in the midst of my bowels.

15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd;.

and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws;.
and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.

16 For dogs have compassed me:

the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me:
they pierced my hands and my feet.

17 I may tell all my bones:

they look and stare upon me.

18 They part my garments among them,

    and cast lots upon my vesture. Mt. 27.35 · Mk. 15.24 · Lk. 23.34 · Joh. 19.24

19 But be not thou far from me, O LORD:

O my strength, haste thee to help me.

20 Deliver my soul from the sword;.

my darling from the power of the dog.

21 Save me from the lion's mouth:

for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns.

22 I will declare thy name unto my brethren:

in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee. Heb. 2.12

23 Yes that fear the LORD, praise him;.

all yes the seed of Jacob, glorify him;.
and fear him, all yes the seed of Israel.

24 For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted;.

neither hath he hid his face from him;.
but when he cried unto him, he heard.

25 My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation:

I will pay my vows before them that fear him.

26 The meek shall eat and be satisfied:

they shall praise the LORD that seek him:
your heart shall live for ever.

27 All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD:

and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.

28 For the kingdom is the LORD's:

and he is the governor among the nations.

29 All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship:

all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him:
and none can keep alive his own soul.

30 A seed shall serve him;.

it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.

31 They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness.

unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this.

  2. have you not seen have you not heard that Jesus is called the Messiah eleven times in the Koran no other person is called this in the koran. Today I want Muslims to wake up to this fact and realise we are all one in Christ.Who would seek to divide us? To say he is a Messiah saviour to the world and then say well he didn't carry out those works on the cross to die for your sins lets just focus on him being a good person denys the christ the messiah that he is. Jesus could only do what he came to do by focusing on the glory he had with the father.Jesus said there is a spiritual war well I'm showing you the sword of truth. May God lead you into all truth.

  3. Y?shèng Li says:

Miss Jeanette, have you ever asked yourself like what if Islam is the truth? I want you to make a sincere prayers asking the one and only God to show you the truth. which i promise you many people did and I promise God never forgets who wants the truth, and you will see. Ps pride is what made Satan to be cursed

  4. Ashley Poulos McClain says:

PEOPLE DO NOT BE DECIEVED!!!! Jesus Christ is not a prophet!!! He is our Lord and Savior who died on the cross to save us. John 3:16 For God so loved the world he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. We can only get to heaven and to God through the Lord Jesus and there is no other way. Also, if he is called Messiah in the quran, what makes him the "Messiah"? In order to be a messiah he had to be a "savior". Thus meaning he saves us from spiritual death and brings us to heaven if we believe in him. He did this by boring our sins on the cross. His blood washes our sins away. Thank you Lord Jesus for taking my place.

  5. O people of the scripture, (Cristin) do not commit excess in your religion, say about god except the truth. The messiah, jasus, the son of many, was but a messenger of God and His word which he directed to mary and a soul (created at a command) from him . So believe in God and his messenger, And do not say "Three" (Trinity) disist – it is better for you. indeed. God is but one God, Exalted is he above having a son, To him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth and sufficient is God as disposer of affairs (Quran Nisah171) : 4:171

  6. Hasina Kabir says:

Ashley-calm down! that's people own opinion.

  7. Farhan N Khadija says:

ok so if Jesus is the son of God then show me in the bible where it says EXACTLY "I AM GOD, WORSHIP ME" I want those exact words. Jesus never said to worship him.

  8. Farhan N Khadija says:

btw a messiah by definition means a leader. Jesus was a leader. A wonderful prophet

  9. Amina Daher says:

You can not educate the ignorance. If you don't like what you read on a website please be respectful and leave. It is not up to you or anyone else to educate others. If you are not a scholar of the word of god do not open your mouth and spill your opinions on others. May Allah bless those who believe.

  10. Stefan Heger says:

Isa Al Masih said more than 3 times about himself that he was the Son of God, Muslims should agree with him!
    Injil, Luke 22:70
Then they (Jews) asked, “Are you the Son of God?” Jesus answered, “You say I am!”

    Injil, John 10:36
So why do you accuse me of a terrible sin for saying that I am the Son of God? After all, it is the Father who prepared me for this work. He is also the one who sent me into the world.

    Injil, Revelation 2:18
This is what you must write to the angel of the church in Thyatira: I am the Son of God! My eyes are like flames of fire, and my feet are like bronze. Listen to what I say.

  11. Mansoor Mirza says:

So, Ashley, Can you please tell me who is the Father of Adam and eve, Who is the father of Isaac, who was born when Sarah of almost one century old, post menopause. And there are many other examples in the Bible itself. Do you know that Bible was written centuries later after Jesus departed to the Havens. And it was not even written in original language of Jesus. It was first written in Rome ( Italian/Roman) and you know very well when the stories are written based on word of mouth and traveled to other part of the word. If not most but many facts will be changed and too much human input in it. Please read history with open mind so you can get the facts.

  12. Ashley Poulos McClain says:

Jesus Christ is most definitely God. He created Adam and Eve, the first man and woman, in his image. He is the Creator of the universe.
St. John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
St John 1:10-11 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
St John 1:14,16-17 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. And of his fullness have we all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

Colossians 1:12-17 "Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light; Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature; For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers, all thing were created by him and for him. And he is before all things, and by him all things consist."
In verses 15-17 we see Jesus in His deity – He is the image of the invisible God. We are told that "all things were created by him"- that is, Jesus is the cause of creation. He is also the instrument of creation; "All things were created through him". And He is the goal of creation; "All things were created …for Him." This is a term of purpose. Creation is designed for the glory of Christ. Jesus Christ is God, He is the Creator of the universe.

In Revelation John has a vision of the Lord Jesus Christ speaking, who commands him to write the things he hears and sees.
In Revelation 1:8, 1:11, and 22: 13 “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”
Revelation 1:17-18 "And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last; I am he that liveth, and was dead; and behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death."

One born in a Bethlehem stable to Joseph and Mary as no less than the Creator of the universe (John 1:1-3,14; Colossians 1:15-17; Hebrews 1:2-3; Acts 3:15; Ephesians 4:10) and that the angels worship him (Hebrews 1:6-7).

John 20:26-31 – Jesus allowed Thomas to call him "my Lord and my God." To have eternal life, we must believe that He is the Christ, the Son of God.

“I tell you the truth,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!” (John 8:58) He further clarified this by saying of himself, “I and the Father are one” (John 10:30). This claim aroused certain parties to plot His death (John 5:18, 10:30-33).

He claimed the right to forgive the sins of other human beings; a privilege every Jew understood to be reserved only for God Almighty (Luke 5:20f).

He accepted worship. (Matthew 14:33, John 20:28).

"And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.” —1 John 5:11-12 NKJV

So by these scriptures of the Holy Bible we see that Jesus is the Son of God and Jesus is God. Therefore, to worship Jesus who intercedes to the father, is to worship the Father God.

  13. Ashley Poulos McClain says:

Farhan N Khadija these scriptures explain it all. The fact that you are looking for Jesus to say EXACTLY "I AM GOD. WORSHIP ME!" you will not find it because you are looking for Jesus to be arrogant and on his high horse. When in fact he was holy and humble, meek and mild. This is a part of his character. But he made it very clear in these scriptures that he is God.

  14. Farhan N Khadija says:

Ashley Poulos McClain so basically jesus can be the SON of a God and be God at the same time? So God basically stopped what he was doing, became human and was birthed from a woman, then hung on a cross and looked at the sky and begged himself to have mercy upon the creation for they know not what they do?

  15. Farhan N Khadija says:

Ashley Poulos McClain Also it talks about how Jesus will sit on the right hand side of God. if they are the same Person how can he sit beside himself?

  16. Farhan N Khadija says:

Ashley Poulos McClain Also, before he was crucified, he got down on his knees and begged God to take the burden away from him…so he was asking himself to take the burden off of himself?

  17. Farhan N Khadija says:

if people actually read the bible and studied it and knew word for word what it said and its Actually meanings and they did background research on christianity, they would not be Christian anymore. they would be Muslim

  18. Ashley Poulos McClain says:

Farhan N Khadija Jesus says that he is in the Father and the father is in him. In the scriptures, the meaning of the trinity means you have God the father, God the Son (Jesus, the living Word), and God the Holy Spirit. These are 3 manifestations of one God. God sent his only begotten son, who is also apart of him, to come down to Earth as a living sacrifice for atonement of sins.

  19. Farhan N Khadija says:

Ashley Poulos McClain you believe that? That a son and a father are one person? Thats insane. I left Christianity because the entire bible is full of pornography, murder, rape, families having sex with each other, etc. its insane.

  21. Cindy Melchin VanLandegen says:

I think millions of Christian is would disagree.

  22. Raheel Ahsan says:

stefen isa ale slam never said soo dont interprate wrong

  23. Anonymous says:

Farhan N Khadija people did worship Jesus and He did not tell them to stop.

  24. Ashley Poulos McClain says:

Farhan have you never heard the last book of the bible, The Revelation of Jesus Christ? Jesus Christ came to John and told him to write the things which he saw. Rev. 1:8 Jesus said, "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending. Then in Rev. 1:11 Jesus said, "I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last. Rev. 1:18 Jesus said, "I am he that liveth, and was dead: and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. Then in Rev. 2:7 Jesus said, "To him that overcometh will I (I meaning Jesus) give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

  25. Ashley Poulos McClain says:

Here is what John 1 says about Jesus. John 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. AND THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH, AND DWELT AMONG US (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth by Jesus Christ. No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the father, he hath declared him.
