The Comfort of Allah’s All-Knowing Presence

In the Qurʾān Allah states: And with Him are the keys of the unseen, no one knows them but Him. He knows whatever there is in the earth and in the sea. There is no leaf that falls except that He knows it. There is not a grain in the darkness of the earth nor anything fresh or dry, but is written in a Clear Record (Q. 6: 59). This great verse highlights Allah’s knowledge of everything. He knows every leaf in existence, and no leaf falls from a tree until He gives it permission. He knows every movement you make, every feeling you feel, and every the deepest secrets and thoughts in your subconscious. Allah says He knows the secret and that which is more hidden (Q. 20: 7). This verse is meant to give us comfort, that no matter what happens in our life, there is divine wisdom in it and He is aware of it.
